Funding for new Youth Opportunities projects to run in 2017.

Applications are now open for funding from the Youth Opportunities program for projects to be run in 2017.

The Youth Opportunities program provides one-off, time-limited grants of up to $50,000 to organisations and local councils for youth-led and youth-driven community projects that have a positive youth development focus.

Up to $1.1 million is available for projects to be conducted between January and December 2017. Since the program was launched in 2012, more than $6.8 million has been provided for 120 local projects throughout NSW.

Funded projects from previous rounds have focused on giving young people the opportunity to develop a range of skills, including life skills and healthy behaviours; leadership, communication and teamwork; event management and planning; and providing volunteering opportunities that link young people to further education and training.

Application close at 5:00pm on Monday 27 June 2016.
