Regional Development Australia (RDA) Hunter recently made a submission to Infrastructure Australia in response to the Australian Infrastructure Audit (the Audit) and for consideration during development of the Australian Infrastructure Plan.
The infrastructure solutions presented in our submission are based on a comprehensive body of work that was undertaken in partnership with Infrastructure NSW. The resulting Hunter Economic Infrastructure Plan (HEIP) presents a pipeline of inter-connected projects aimed at delivering solutions beyond the Hunter region to improve productivity.
Some of the HEIP priority projects have attracted public funding and are progressing to construction. RDA Hunter has commenced a dialogue with Infrastructure NSW regarding the next phase for this Plan and the infrastructure projects it recommends.
Analysis of the benefits of completing all of the HEIP projects indicates significant improvements to meeting the increasing freight task and streamlining connectivity to national and international markets.
