Trevor John, RDA Hunter’s CEO and Director of Regional Development is today addressing the 600 strong audience at South Korea’s leading HR conference, the 2022 Global HR Forum.

Being respectful of the victims of the tragedy in Seoul and South Korea’s national period of mourning, the 17th annual Forum is proceeding with an abridged two-day program. The theme of this year’s forum is “The Next Talent in the Era of Grand Transition”. The Forum is addressing the rapidly changing work landscape due to the spread of political conflict, the pandemic and its infectious disease, and the rapid scale-up of digital transformation. Every year, the forum collaborates globally to improve the education, training, and utilisation of human resources by addressing the main challenges that countries face regarding talent development.

This year, 80 world leaders from governments and international organisations, global corporate CEOs, scholars and academic experts are collectively identifying global trends, discussing the impact, and providing practical solutions to better prepare the future workforce in the “Age of Great Transformation”. Discussion is focusing on global megatrends, nurturing global talent in high-technology industries, and how to secure local talent during population decline and regional change.

Trevor was invited to represent RDA Hunter and deliver a 20 minute keynote presentation highlighting the organisation’s STEM and skills workforce development programs during the session: How Can We Nurture the Future Local Talents in the Age of Grand Transition?

RDA Hunter’s industry-led skills programs from primary school and throughout secondary education, connect students to VET and tertiary study entry points. Hosts, the Korean Ministry of Education, The Korea Economic Daily and Korean Research Institute for Vocational Education & Training asked Trevor to present evidence of economic outcomes and lessons gained from RDA Hunter’s pre-employment programs.  The focus is on science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) modules as well as activities to develop enterprise and entrepreneurship skills, in programs which transition participants out of school and into employment via technical apprenticeships, traineeships, and further study.
