RDA Hunter knows the imperative for innovation and its strong links to economic and regional development. A response to this global challenge has been The Hunter Innovation Scorecard. Australia’s first Regional Innovation Scorecard demonstrates not only the key Innovation ‘enablers’ of the Hunter region, but also that RDA Hunter puts Innovation firmly in its strategic agenda.
Recently RDA Hunter CEO Todd Williams met with the EU in Brussels about the role of innovation in economic and regional development.
The purpose of this meeting was to discuss two primary issues:
1. The Hunter Innovation Scorecard 2014 which benchmarks the Hunter against EU regions.
2. The EU innovation model which demonstrates investment into its ecosystem delivers positive returns through economic and regional development that primarily focuses on jobs.
Todd will provide an overview of the key outcomes from this meeting as well as present a way forward for the Region’s innovation agenda.
