Bridges Renewal Programme – Round Two

http://investment.infrastructure.gov.au/funding/bridgesrenewal/index.aspx

The Australian Government’s $300 million Bridges Renewal Programme (BRP) contributes up to 50% of the total project cost for the repair or replacement of bridges (and culverts) across the nation.

In Round One, over 100 proposals from NSW were submitted and twenty-nine (29) projects were funded.  Three (3) Hunter bridges projects were funded, for a total outlay of $3.34 million.

After funding Round One projects, there is $185 million of the BRP still to be allocated.

In the lead-up to an announcement regarding Round Two of the BRP, the Federal Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development has requested the Regional Development Australia (RDA) network to support applicants.  RDA Hunter knows that bridges are extremely important to our local communities and better bridges means improved transport reliability and increased productivity.

RDA Hunter is available to assist Councils from the Hunter in the preparation of applications for Round Two of the Bridges Renewal Programme.  For information, call (02) 4908 7300 or email
