NSW Minister for Regional Development, Skills and Small Business, John Barilaro recently launched the Jobs for NSW Regional Jobs Now package – designed to support job growth among regional businesses across NSW.
Jobs for NSW is committed to providing 30% of funding to NSW businesses in regional areas outside of metro Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong. Included in the Regional Jobs Now package are a mix of grant, loan and loan guarantee products designed to suit companies in their specific stage of growth and job creation.
The products available are:
– Minimum Viable Product Grants for promising start-ups that are not yet generating revenue. Grants of up to $25,000 are available to help start-ups gather feedback from customers and test business models.
– Building Partnership Grants are for start-ups that are already generating revenue. Grants of up to $100,000 are available to fund partnerships or projects that will accelerate market adoption.
– Accelerating Growth Loans will be available for regional SMEs with revenues of between $500,000 and $3 million, and has been designed to stimulate fast growth companies with growing revenue or jobs by 20% year-on-year for the past three years.
– Gazelle Loan Guarantee Program enables fast growth SMEs with revenue exceeding $3 million to obtain the loan finance required to expand and accelerate their growth. Jobs for NSW may guarantee up to 50 per cent of the loan, up to $5 million, typically for a term of two to four years.
Regional Jobs Now also includes a $4 million pilot of the Regional Solutions performance based grant scheme. Regional Solutions is for businesses that are not eligible for the above 4 products above but are planning to create a minimum of the equivalent of 10 full time jobs in regional NSW within two years of their project commencement.
Expressions of Interest to be considered under Regional Jobs Now close at 5pm on Friday 9 December 2016.
