Scott has joined RDA Hunter as Director of the ME Program, its highly successful skills and workforce development program.

Scott, formerly Head Teacher, Teaching and Learning at ME Program partner school Maitland Grossmann High, was instrumental in the creation of the Program’s iSTEM course which is now taught in 50 schools across NSW. He was a driving force behind the increase in STEM subject participation and the success of the Program at MGHS.

“I am looking forward to leading the ME Program into its next phase, Scott said.

“Working with industry to help develop a skilled workforce for the future is an exciting challenge for me as is inspiring students to study science, technology, engineering and maths. The ME Program contributes enormously to the region’s future and I am very excited to be part of it.” he continued.

RDA Hunter’s ME Program links industry needs with schools and tertiary institutions, it has increased Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) participation in the Hunter Region to well above the NSW average for students at Higher School Certificate (HSC) level.

Innovative teaching techniques developed by the ME Program incorporate engineering, avionics, robotics, systems integration, electronics, 3D printing and computer aided manufacturing (CAM) into the classroom. The ME Program encourage students to pursue a career in design, technology, engineering and mathematics related fields.
