The ME Program is RDA Hunter’s industry led, STEM focused, skills and workforce development program. It links industry with schools to make STEM curriculum interesting and workplace-relevant and provides industry with qualified, motivated and career aware candidates.

The ME Program works closely with Hunter industry to develop young people with the STEM skills and knowledge that will equip them for the jobs of the future.

The Program has achieved such outstanding results in improving the uptake of STEM subjects that the majority of the Hunter’s high schools are now involved. Increased school participation has led to a need for additional industry partners.

As a ME Program partner, Hunter industry has the opportunity to build relationships with schools and students – our future workforce – to contribute to the learning and development of young people to ensure they are entering the workforce with relevant skills and qualifications.

Some of our existing industry partners include AMP Control, ATSA, BAE Systems, PwC, Forgacs, Lockheed Martin, Varley Group, WesTrac, and Thales.

It is hoped that Industry – School partnerships will strengthen over time and be mutually beneficial. Some of our industry partners have developed ongoing relationships with students as they transition into the workforce.

Industry joining the ME Program would be invited to facilitate school participation in their choice of the following activities:
• Assist schools with the contextualisation of their curriculum
• Volunteers to work with staff and students groups
• Provide guided site visits
• Provide work experience opportunities for students
• Provide work placement opportunities for VET students
• Provide opportunities for hands-on workplace learning
• Support project-based learning (in the workplace or at school)
• Offer mentor support for students and staff
• Provide career advice to students
• Volunteer staff to judge various STEM based competitions
