As nominations for the Board of the Hunter’s leading economic development agency, Regional Development Australia (RDA) Hunter close, the unprecedented interest in these positions has been welcomed by CEO, Todd Williams.

“We’ve had an overwhelming response to the Federal and State government’s call for expressions of interest in our Board positions. In fact, we’ve had the highest number of nominations of any of the 55 strong network of RDAs in Australia,” said Mr Williams.

“Providing a strong regional voice and advocating the region’s priorities to government has seen RDA Hunter elevate the Hunter’s profile nationally and internationally.

We’re very pleased to see that the region’s business leaders have recognised our influential role and expressed their interest in joining the organisation.

I am looking forward to working with our new Board to build on RDA Hunter’s impact to date and drive the Hunter’s success as Australia’s leading region.” continued Mr Williams.

RDA Hunter was established in 2009 by State and Federal governments to promote economic growth in the Hunter region. It aims to advance innovation, attract investment and prioritise key infrastructure needs to ensure the region’s ongoing international competitiveness.

Some of its achievements include:

• ME Program
• Hunter Economic Infrastructure Plan
