The countdown has started for parts of Newcastle to switch to the nbn™ network

Homes and businesses in Newcastle are set to complete the transition to Australia’s broadband network, with the existing copper network in the area due to be disconnected from 11 August 2017.

Homes and businesses in parts of Cooks Hill, Newcastle West, The Hill, Bar Beach, Merewether, Merewether Heights, Adamstown, The Junction, Hamilton South, Hamilton, Broadmeadow, Hamilton, Hamilton North, Maryville, Wickham, Islington, Hamilton East, Newcastle West, Wickham, Newcastle West, The Junction and Hamilton East are due for disconnection.

Making the switch to the nbn™ network is not automatic. Homes and businesses in these areas need to contact their preferred retail service provider to switch existing landline phone, ADSL internet and Telstra cable internet services to an nbn™ powered plan if they wish to keep using them.

As long as an order has been received before 11 August, your services should not be disrupted.
