RDA Hunter will highlight its ME Program’s success in contributing to a skilled workforce for the future to national and international defence prime contractors and governments at the Pacific 2015 Maritime Exposition.

The three day event is the leading Asia Pacific maritime and defence expo and is being held at Glebe Island Sydney.

“Having long-term access to people that are STEM qualified is a key requirement for the defence industry. Pacific 2015 is a great platform to demonstrate the innovative techniques the Program uses to inspire students to study these subjects and its success in improving participation.” Said RDA Hunter CEO, Todd Williams

The ME Program links industry with schools and tertiary institutions. It has increased Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) participation in the Hunter Region to well above the NSW average for students at Higher School Certificate (HSC) level.
Innovative teaching techniques developed by the ME Program incorporate engineering, avionics, robotics, systems integration, electronics, 3D printing and computer aided manufacturing (CAM).

Inspired by this new way of teaching, students and teachers in the majority of Hunter high schools and 32 Defence Industries have joined the Program.

Defence Industry in the Hunter is already benefiting from the ME Program with a skilled, responsive and smart workforce for the future.
