RDA Hunter is pleased to announce that its ME Program will join the Hunter Valley Electric Vehicle Festival as naming rights sponsor in 2016/17.

The Hunter Valley Electric Vehicle Festival, now in its sixth year, is run by the Tom Farrell Institute for the Environment and aims to promote sustainable transport and the development of electric vehicle industries in the Hunter region.

“The ME Program is delighted to partner with the Tom Farrell Institute to support the 2016 Hunter Valley Electric Vehicle Festival,” said RDA Hunter’s ME Program Director, Dr Scott Sleap.

“The EV Festival provides valuable exposure to new and innovative applications of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) and highlights the diverse career opportunities that studying STEM can lead to.”

“As part of our support of the Festival, students from across the Hunter will be involved in the Festival’s program of exciting hands-on activities and the largest electric grand prix in Australia.” continued Dr Sleap.

The Hunter Valley Electric Vehicle Festival commenced in 2011 to create interest in clean energy transport in the Hunter. It encourages school students into careers in science and engineering through involvement in the construction of competition electric vehicles and stimulates clean energy manufacturing in the region by highlighting new and innovative futures for transport.

The 2016 Hunter Electric Vehicle Festival is being held on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th August at Cameron Park Kart Raceway as part of National Science Week.
