The Hunter Strategic Defence Group has been established by RDA Hunter to leverage the Department of Defence’s spending in the region on projects including the Joint Strike Fighter.
RDA Hunter is working with regional stakeholders to engage with industry and all levels of Government to identify projects that will have an economic impact and grow the Region’s defence industry.
The Group is pursuing three initial economic infrastructure projects that will have a catalytic impact in creating prosperity and jobs. These include,
1. Duplication of Nelson Bay Road to Newcastle Airport
2. Second access to the Airport Business Park and Newcastle Airport via Cabbage Tree Road
3. The development of a Williamtown Aerospace Strategic Plan
