To help inform RDA Hunter’s work that reinforces the Hunter as a world leading innovative region, RDA Hunter Chairman, Mr Mike Slater and CEO Mr Todd Williams this week attended “Connecting Science and Industry: Recent Initiatives in Germany” held at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Canberra.

The event featured a key note address by Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Industry and Science, The Hon Karen Andrews MP and lectures by Professors Christoph Herrmann and Sami Kara of TU Braunschweig and the University of New South Wales.

RDA Hunter’s work to advance innovation in the Hunter, led by the 2013 and ’14 Hunter Innovation Scorecards that measure and benchmark the Hunter against the EU’s 190 regions, is being strengthened by ongoing consultation and engagement with the EU and its member countries.

“Building on the success of our Innovation Scorecards is key to RDA Hunter’s work to drive innovation in the region and strengthen our position as a world-leading innovative region,” said Todd Williams, RDA Hunter CEO.

“Engaging with the EU provides international insights for our innovation strategies and focuses European attention on the Hunter and its capabilities.”
