REGIONAL INDUSTRIES INVESTMENT FUND (RIIF)

The RIIF has been established to drive economic growth in regional NSW and enhance the attractiveness of regional areas. Financial assistance is available for projects, across regional NSW, excluding the Greater Sydney Metropolitan area, that result in or promote economic outcomes for the State.

The RIIF aims to address barriers impeding investment and job creation for specific projects in regional locations. Support is available for investment projects that contribute to the creation of new jobs and productive capacity, or in special circumstances the retention of existing jobs in a regional location.

Economic infrastructure projects that are linked with employment generation investments and deliver industrial projects that have the potential to benefit more than one firm, can also be supported.

Further eligibility details for the RIIF program see: http://www.business.nsw.gov.au/invest-in-nsw/regional-nsw/regional-nsw-assistance-programs/regional-industries-investment-fund or the Regional Industries Investment Fund brochure.

RESOURCES FOR REGIONS

The objective of the program is to relieve infrastructure constraints and support NSW communities affected by the impacts of mining. Although this program is delivered by Infrastructure NSW, the Department has a key role in its promotion and management. INNOVATE NSW

Innovate NSW connects technology SMEs and businesses in key sectors of the NSW economy to develop globally competitive business-to-business (B2B) solutions that address compelling needs. The program focuses on rapid development of business-driven solutions that use 'enabling technologies'.

Minimum Viable Product grants provide matched funding to assist technology SMEs to engage with a potential business customer to demonstrate an idea, prove a concept, develop a prototype or customise a B2B solution that addresses a high growth opportunity or challenge for a key sector.

TechVouchers can provide funding for technology SMEs to collaborate with a NSW research organisation to overcome a specific technical challenge or test a new technology.

Collaborative Solutions provides grants for technology SMEs to form consortia to develop, and pilot, an innovative B2B solution that addresses a high growth opportunity or challenge in a key sector.
